.. We arrive at the House of Mouse. Well, the general location of the House of Mouse (we dont get to see the actual parks until after Traditions class).
Boy what a exhausting and demanding couple of days! We were kicked in unmentionable places by Murphy and his law. Having everything from the breakdowns to having to help Thomas get to court to get his marriage liscense and being asked by an old lady if we two guys were "together" after he asks for his liscense (he is a friend but he aint gettin no further). We couldnt leave Starkville until much later in the day because the Durango blew up, but at least it was fixed earlier than the guy had quoted the day before. After driving for six or so hours, we arrive at our first official stop (gas break ommitted) at Cracker barrel. After packing ourselves with nice greasy homestyle cookin' (yeah, stomach full of home cooking, thats gonna help you stay awake...) we try to decide on an alternate route. The route we had been on was Highway 82 and it was two lane and crazy to drive at night; Mama had suggested another road for us that the wonderful Rand Mcnally Atlas found. After spending nearly an hour consulting laptops and gps devices, we decided to trust the good ol' maps. Heading south to find I 10 was its own adventure, after making it to 10 we started heading west to orlando via pensacola. After eight or nine miles we made a legal u turn and started heading east on I 10 which is the correct way to orlando. I 10 was perhaps the most boring ride that I had ever taken in my life and I wasnt allowed to sleep through it. After getting onto I 75 south to finish the last leg of the trip, we started making pit stops once every seventy or eighty miles to use the little boys room and caffeinate.
Finally we arrived at the apartments half an hour early for check in and had to wait for the guards to let us in. After standing in line to get our paperwork together, I discover that my Social Security card is no longer in my car. Because of this, I was not allowed to legally sign up to work for disney until Tuesday when I can ride the Bus to the Social Security office in order to obtain a replacement. (I have found my card in an old wallet today BTW). After lots of paperwork and unpacking, I finally get to sleep with nearly 48 continuous hours of no sleep whatsoever under my belt.
Today was a breeze compared to yesterday though, I woke up, spent an hour filling out paperwork and for the rest of the day setting up homestead. Because I dont have to ride the Social Security Express Tuesday, I get to attend Traditions with the rest of the crew and see whats in store for the 4 months to come.
Please excuse any grammatical or spelling errors in this Disney Monkey News Blog Update as I have only had a few hours to sleep over the last 3 days. Thanks for reading and check back soon!!!
